Overview

General Profession and Trade Occupation

VETASSESS takes the skill assessment of most of the general professions and trade occupations in Australia. VETASSESS is authorized by the Government of Australia to take skill assessments of prospective migrants. The assessment by VETASSESS is recognized by the Australian government and employers.

Basic Criteria for Skills Assessment

  • An equivalent Australian Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in a highly relevant field of study, plus at least one year of post-graduation highly relevant job at an adequate skill level, accomplished over the last five years.

  • An equivalent Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher-level degree without a highly relevant field of study, but at least three years of post-graduation highly relevant job at an adequate skill level, accomplished over the last five years.

  • An equivalent Australian Diploma level degree with a highly relevant field of study, plus at least five years of post-graduation job experience (this is not a requirement for skill evaluation, but ten points for the migration visa) with the ability to achieve a score of seven in IELTS or equivalent are also qualified to come from Nepal as a temporary or permanent resident in Australia.

Additional Supporting Documentation

Other than meeting the criteria listed above, as a prospective applicant, you need to provide some documents as proof of your claims. The key documents you will need are listed below:

  • CV
  • Contract with your employer
  • Reference letter
  • Your payslips
  • Bank statements with your salary amount
  • Slips of tax payment
  • Company’s profile
However, keep in mind that you may require additional documents not mentioned above as well. Such additional documents can be something that proves your authenticity and indicates that your work experience is relevant to the nominated occupation.
