Mental health problems consist of extended disorders and differ in their
severity. The consequence of mental health issues can be severe for both the individual and
their families and society as a whole. Australia saw a surge of mental health-related services,
with almost double the increase from a decade ago, in 2019 – 20.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Wealth, almost three quarter or seventy-four
percent of the psychiatrists in Australia in 2019 were aged forty-five and over. The lack of
young psychiatrists and the demand for more mental health service personnel make Australia a
perfect place to pursue a career in the mental health industry.
